i've been keeping it on a down-low lately. i'm actually enjoying the frequent movie outtings, blockbuster nights, and just working full time. i still don't do sheet at work. there's something about winter season in downtown that makes it the more merry and worth hanging around. a part of it is the ice rink in horton square... but it's something in the cold winter air that's different and alluring.
bev and i watched memoirs of a geisha last night. the sets in the movie were tremendously appealing and gosh darnit, so damn pretty! the movie was a whole new spectacle with an almost-accurate depiction of the story. i couldn't believe, though, that they added the little detail of pumpkin eating the squid she found on the street on the way to geisha school! i somehow predicted that they'd include that small anecdote in the film. i was impressed with ziyi zhang's performance especially her improvement in the english language.
if you haven't watched the korean movie, old boy, i suggest you do.
