there's so much reading!!! GAD!!! i hate it when i daydream while im reading. i end up re-reading paragraphs and pages all over again.
broken flowers
starring: bill murray, sharon stone, jessica lange, chloe sevigny
directed by: jim jarmusch
im not familiar with jarmusch films, but automatically, i noticed the clean and smooth shots he's been praised for. with a daughter named, lo (short for lolita), and a monochrome motif of the color pink, the film held itself through observational shots, stressing on details during many of the silent scenes. overall, the film was like a day in the life of the over-the-hill bachelor, don johnston, who's been living his unconventional life breaking women's hearts. retired and bored, his nosy neighbor keeps him company and helps him solve his problems. the film didn't make me feel like a spectator, but more of an involved viewer experiencing the same emotions and adventures that don johnston pursued. however, what might upset the viewer is the ambiguous ending. it was too open ended. like all mysteries in life, the ending of the film was left unsolved like don's future left as an enigma to his friends and to himself. overall, it was a unique film experience with a pleasurable performance by bill murray. contains nudity, violence, and vulgar language. i give it 3.5 stars.

- televisual flow may seem random, but it isn't
- i think im a control freak
